I was SO excited to work with Laura on a custom headpiece for her stunning urban wedding to Bart. She just oozed style and had carefully curated every detail for her big day. Laura wanted something modern, organic and different to go with her gorgeous Maticevski gown.

We worked together on a style board (which is a great reference point as it sets the tone for the day) and designed a headpiece that would pick up the unique lines in her dress, and stunning point on her Sophia Webster coco crystal pumps. Laura wanted something that she could wear with her hair down (for their first look) and hair up (for the ceremony) as a surprise for her husband-to-be Bart.

I was immediately drawn to the shape of an Australian Eucalyptus leaf, setting the tone for Laura’s organic modern design. To soften the look, we added some feather blossoms with delicate pearl drop stamens. The result was a beautiful silver crown, which looped around in a vine structure, and had a mixed medium finish of leather leaves, feather blossoms and Swarovski spring buds.

Laura then trusted me to create the sweetest little crown for her daughter Indigo to wear! She managed to get some extra guipure lace from her mini Maticevski gown, which I was able to sculpt and add to with hand beading.

It was so special to go on this ride with Laura and her family! She had such a great eye for detail and was passionate about Australian Design (her Maid of Honour gown was also an Australian Designer ~ Alex Perry).
