Hello! My name is Christie and I’m a couture Milliner based in Australia. I work with clients from all over the world creating fine headwear and veils for their weddings. I never take for granted how intimate this relationship is, as I often am privy to your dress, hairstyle and all the intimate details of your wedding before anyone else! It truly is an honour and I absolutely LOVE my job.

I became a Milliner after studying millinery at the Melbourne School of Fashion then going on to complete my Certificate IV at TAFE, which is the highest millinery qualification in Australia. I have since done a number of courses with international master Milliners and started Christie Millinery in 2011.

I’ve had some amazing experiences to date! It’s hard to choose my favourite, but my top 3 would be making a headpiece for Kylie Minogue for her to be photographed for VOGUE for her 50th birthday; collaborating with Australian label CAMILLA and making headwear for all their Australian boutiques and David Jones; and working with Far Fetch creative director Mark Vassallo and VOGUE Australia for their Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival runway show.

My design aesthetic celebrates modern femininity. I work closely with clients to ensure that their headwear design sits effortlessly alongside elements of their big day, working with their head shape, hair, hairstyle and accessories. I work with many mediums including plated metal (21k yellow gold, rose gold, rhodium), lace (including that from your dress), Swarovski crystals and pearls, feathers and leather. I offer a curated selection of designs online, as well as a bespoke service where I work one-on-one with Brides to create headwear for their big day. As I make everything in my Australian Atelier, please allow 4 months from the time of your order. If your wedding is prior to this, please contact me and I will endeavour to help you out.
